Huntington Beach, CA (PRWEB) May 16, 2012

In the Summer of 2007, Rob Trujillo took a chance on what was then brand new energy saving technology called Cool-n-Save, from Greenway Design Group, Inc. (GDGI). “I am always in the market to find new, more efficient ways to save energy and costs,” says Trujillo, president of International Rubber Products in Rancho Dominguez, CA. “I agreed to test the equipment and was eager to see the results.”

Fast forward to the present time, Cool-n-Save is now an award-winning technology and Trujillo is still enjoying his savings. “Just as they promised, we have consistently posted average savings of 25% during the summer months when air conditioning usage is highest,” he says. The monthly savings, according to Trujillo, equates to thousands of actual dollars, “more than enough to cover the cost of installation within the first 9 months.”

Air conditioning experts admit that despite all of the technological advancements since Willis Carrier built the first air “chiller” in 1902, air conditioning systems still fall victim to hot air. Or more precisely, OUTDOOR hot air. Cool-n-Save is designed to efficiently solve this deficiency.

According to the U.S. Department of Energy, split system central air conditioning – the type envisioned by Carrier – is the most prevalent form of “air conditioning” in use by homeowners and commercial building owners today. Split system “AC” is characterized by copper tubing filled with compressed refrigerant gas. Tubing is gathered at either end into what are called coils that facilitate ‘heat exchange’ between the air inside the building and the air outside.

The ideal outdoor temperature for split system air conditioning is at or below 85 degrees Fahrenheit (F). Efficient heat exchange becomes increasingly difficult when the ambient air temperature rises above 95 degrees. According to HVAC industry documentation, for every one degree (F) over 95 degrees, the split system air conditioner loses about 1.5% efficiency. In most parts of the U.S. during most times of the year, the daytime rooftop temperature of commercial buildings is often well above 95 degrees (F); during summer months, temperatures soar to well over 110 degrees.

Cool-n-Save solves the ‘hot air’ problem by injecting micro mist into the air around the outdoor heat exchange coils. A process called “flash evaporation” causes most of the mist to evaporate almost instantly and lower air temperature before it reaches the coils. The dramatic decrease in temperature increases the AC unit’s Energy Efficiency Rating (EER). Compressors run more efficiently and less frequently, thus less energy is used. Cool-n-Save may reduce energy cost by as much as 30%.

To protect air conditioning equipment from mineral buildup and corrosion, Greenway Design Group deployed its patent-pending high efficiency four-stage water treatment and filtration system. Designed by Greenway for its commercial Cool-n-Save evaporative pre-cool system, the water treatment removes approximately 90% of total dissolved solids from water with up to 1,000 PPM of dissolved solids.

The company also reports that their water treatment system is also suitable for other commercial and industrial purposes. The design is compact and lightweight and “plug-and-use” ready; all primary components are rack-mounted and ready for activation. The company also reports that it offers additional configurations for just about any water treatment requirement.

According to Trujillo, in addition to lower energy cost for air conditioning, there are no signs of calcium build up or corrosion – no degradation on any of his air conditioning equipment. “I am pleased with the installation and performance of Cool-n-Save and the service that Greenway Design Group, Inc. has provided over the years,” he adds.

About Greenway Design Group

Greenway markets their pre-cool technology under the trademark “Cool-n-Save.” Independent studies field studies from Nevada and Costa Rica show that Cool-n-Save evaporative pre-cooling systems may produce energy cost savings as high as 30%, with an average savings of about 26% from air conditioning use during peak heat seasons. The company has been developing pre-cool misting technology since 2005. Greenway received a “green engineering” award co-sponsored by TechAmerica and Harvey Mudd College in 2011.
New York (PRWEB) January 16, 2011

Anyone with a penchant for Italian culture and cuisine—which seems to be nearly everyone these days—will want to take note of the exciting January the Italian Trade Commission has in store for both food industry professionals and consumers alike.

To refresh your memory, The Italian Trade Commission (ITC) is the Italian agency responsible for developing and promoting trade between Italy and other countries. It has been the driving force behind events such as the Vino 2011 – Italian Wine Week Convention and the Italian Pavilion at the Fancy Food Show. Coincidentally, these two events, among others, will headline the ITC’s impressive array of activities this January.

To start things off, more than 120 purveyors of fine Italian food and beverages will pack the Italian Trade Commission’s sponsored Italian Pavilion at the 36th Winter Fancy Food Show, taking place January 16 to 18 at San Francisco’s Moscone Center. The Italian Pavilion—typically the largest and most diverse collection of exhibitors at San Francisco’s premier food industry event—will be even larger this year. With twice the number of exhibitors over last year’s event, the Pavilion will showcase the best of Italian cuisine—from sauces and pasta to cured meats, chocolate, olives and olive oil—all available for tasting and ordering. The sharp uptick in Italian exhibitors at this year’s show has created quite a buzz, signaling a decisively stronger market in the coming year for gourmet and specialty food products.

Hot on the heels of the FFS, the Third Annual VINO – Italian Wine Week convention will kick off on January 23 in New York. VINO 2011, sponsored and hosted by the ITC, will run January 23-27 at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel and will include 300 companies—from vintners and importers to wholesalers and retailers. The five-day conference will combine breakfast meetings, tastings, discussions, and informal get-togethers designed to bring buyers and sellers together. At this year’s event, the ITC will also introduce its VINO 2011 DIRECT program which will debut a myriad of wines from all over the peninsula available for the first time in the United States. Importers, Wholesalers, Retailers and Restaurateurs will be able to buy directly as this ambitious program has included a margin friendly import and distribution solution as well as private label opportunities for all trade tiers.

Rounding out the flurry of ITC news-worthy activities for the month will be the launch of its new italianmade.com web portal, along with the update and online publication of two books Foods of Italy – 5th edition (http://bit.ly/fnN5o6) and Wines of Italy – 9th Edition (http://bit.ly/h02VaM) by Burton Anderson. These extraordinary resources represent perhaps the best informational materials on Italian food and wine available in the English language—whether on the web or in hardcopy. These new releases cover the complete spectrum of Italian food and wine and are a direct response to burgeoning demand by consumers and trade members.

Italianmade.com already reaches 100,000 visitors each month and serves as an important vehicle for helping the Italian Trade Commission fulfill its charter of supporting Italian businesses, promoting industry innovation, and supporting Italian trade in U.S. markets.

Tom Wark, noted wine publicist and author of Fermentation, The Daily Wine Blog—one of the world’s top wine blogs focusing on marketing, wine politics and other industry related issues—expounds on the ITC‘s activities in the US markets. Wark notes: “From the marketer’s perspective here in the states, the Italian Trade Commission has not just been busy, but also very strategic and savvy in the way they carefully target key demographic and cultural trends to support their mission to expose Italian products and producers to the American marketplace. For example, due to the Italian Trade Commission’s commitment to carefully using new social media tools, VINO 2011 will be happening not just for participants in New York, but for wine trade around the world. Marketers and the wine trade always want to work with and support those most deeply and most intelligently engaged in promotion, and this is why VINO 2011 is so critical to Italian Producers – VINO 2011 marks ITC and the Italian Wine trade as savvy, intelligent and active marketers that understand the changing marketplace.”

While Italian products can be found everywhere in the U.S., one clear problem that authentic Italian products face is the misrepresentation of the imitations as the real thing. The way to protect authentic products from imitations rests solely through communication and education, both at the trade level and to the final consumer. The Italian Trade Commission is proudly continuing its efforts to do that.

Coral Springs, FL (PRWEB) May 08, 2012

Everything is big in Texas. Dallas, nicknamed D-Town, is one of the largest U.S. cities not on a navigable body of water.. The Statue of Liberty can fit inside the new and bigger Cowboys Stadium with the roof closed. Fort Worth hosts the largest private Civil War collection west of the Mississippi River and is the 19th largest city in the U.S. Churches, grocery stores and the cowboy hats are three of the biggest aspects of the area. Visitors and residents can watch award- winning Today in America TV on ION KPXD-TV.

The Dallas-Fort Worth areas ranks number 4 as one of The Best Places to Relocate To in the U.S. mainly due to the large Fortune 500 company presence there. It is the city where the Super Bowl and Barney, the big purple dinosaur were created. Fort Worth, 35 miles from Dallas, has been named one of “America’s Most Livable Cities.” It earned its nickname of Cow-town from the cattle trade it used to be known for during its early days. This area is well-known to the host of the educational cable television show that bears his name.

Terry Bradshaw, former professional football player, traveled to many cities during his 14 year career as quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Games against the world-famous Dallas Cowboys on their home turf often brought the Hall of Fame inductee to D-town. Bradshaw, a natural leader, twice won the prestigious title of “Most Valuable Player.” He helped guide his team to four Super Bowl victories and eight AFC championships. Bradshaw retired in 1984 and has worked in television for over 20 years. His charisma and openness keeps him busy as an analyst on Fox NFL Sunday and as a motivational speaker for large corporate events.

The Today in America with Terry Bradshaw cable program covers topics that apply to the lives of everyone. The provocative show films throughout the United States and Canada and is edited in state-of-the-art studios in South Florida. It is broadcast on a variety of regional and national cable networks in a format that is convenient to watch. More information about the program, its host, or to see a sample video is located at todayinamericatv.com.

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) May 04, 2012

Redtail Telematics Corporation, an established global manufacturer of GPS tracking products, today announced it has launched its state-of-the-art DataWarehouse, providing robust, real-time location and journey data for Enterprise level customers worldwide.

According to Dr. Colin Smithers, CEO of Redtail, “Vertical markets have a need for telematics data such as location, monitoring, status and other metadata to enhance their Enterprises, and Redtail now offers customers a secure, scalable, flexible and deeply-integrated hardware, firmware and high transaction-rate database solution that treats data delivery from a system viewpoint in a way that is second to none.”

High-frequency driver behavior data from the 3-axis accelerometer in the Redtail Telematics VAM-1 GPS units is buffered and transmitted to the DataWarehouse, delivering continuous journey data at up to 10x per second, collecting data about harsh braking, excessive rotation and acceleration, as well as other partial and complete journey information, asset tracking and location data – and more.

Integration between the Redtail GPS device, the Redtail firmware it uses, and the Redtail DataWarehouse is unmatched in the industry. Redtail engineers have designed a fortified system that shields customers from the uncertainties of today’s cellular and computer networks and leaves nothing to chance, using a proprietary protocol between the device and the DataWarehouse. Data arriving randomly and at potentially high rates is load balanced and fed to internally redundant databases that can push data immediately or be mined at a later time.

The databases are professionally hosted on multi-site server farms, and the system has been designed to survive everything from momentary cellular drops, breakdowns and power outages to disc crashes and other catastrophic events. High priority messages, such as the ‘Crash’ & ‘Panic’ events are pushed immediately through the database, which is scalable from 100 devices to a million or more.

According to Christopher Mangum of CC Mangum Consulting, “Our enterprise software provides asset management services for clients with off-road equipment. It features mapping in real-time together with location history; usage information including start time, engine status, daily and historical runtime; and preventive maintenance tracking and scheduling. Redtail Telematics seamlessly provides the vital information that drives our information system: GPS tracking, location and usage data for our clients’ fleets, all available 24/7 through its DataWarehouse.”

“The Redtail DataWarehouse opens up a world of opportunity for our current and future customers,” says Anna Amoresano, Vice President, Sales & Marketing. “Pricing is contingent on customer requirements, and inquiries are welcome at sales(at)redtailtelematics(dot)com.”

Arlington, VA (PRWEB) August 15, 2007

The Nature Conservancy released an unprecedented study highlighting the top ten threats to marine conservation in South America. Citing over-fishing as the number one threat, compounded by intense development pressures and numerous environmental challenges, the report’s authors found that the coastal waters off of South America could face permanent damage if sustainability and conservation issues are not addressed.

“Over-fishing in South American waters is wide spread. Demand for seafood both from domestic and foreign markets is driving economic activities in the region, and it could cause irreversible damage,” said Dr. Anthony Chatwin, lead author of the report. “Unsustainable fishing practices not only wreak havoc on marine habitats, but they also undermine supply to markets which cause higher prices for consumers. This has happened with Chilean Sea bass, and will happen with other products if over-fishing is not addressed. We need to be more aware of where our seafood comes from and demand that fishing practices are sustainable,” he added.

The report, “Priorities for Coastal and Marine Conservation in South America,” was produced by Nature Conservancy oceanographer Dr. Anthony Chatwin, and represents the findings of over 300 experts from 85 different South American entities, including governmental agencies, academic institutions, and non-governmental organizations. This study is the first of its kind, and is expected to help South American governments resolve conservation challenges more effectively, given the limited resources at their disposal.

The coastal waters of South America are some of the most beautiful and species-rich areas in the world, but pressures on these habitats have skyrocketed in recent years to meet the needs of the continent’s more than 380 million people – over half of whom live near the coastlines – and of the international seafood market. While the report highlights the top ten ocean threats unique to Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela, the top ten continental threats as ranked by the report’s experts are:

1. Over-fishing

2. Pollution

3. Urban development

4. Resource extraction

5. Hydrocarbon industries

6. Aquaculture

7. Maritime transport

8. Tourism

9. Invasive species

10. Climate change

In addition to the “top ten” continental threats, the report also highlights specific, tangible threats to coastal communities and marine species in South America. For example:

The majority of sewage management systems pipe waste directly into the oceans, adding to offshore pollution and increasing health risks.
Chile and Peru’s coastal waters (the least-protected marine area in South America) are home to the world’s largest fishery where anchovies are processed into poultry feed. This fishery employs 6% of Peruvians and could drastically impact the country’s economy if shut down — much like California in the 1950’s.
Over-fishing of anchovies in Peru is also affecting Humboldt penguins and guano birds that rely on the fish as a primary source of food.
The most threatened marine area, the Atlantic region of Brazil, is also the most populous zone in South America — and development pressures are only continuing to rise.
Brazil’s vast sugar cane plantations are causing increased erosion and an unnaturally high amount of sediments being carried off to sea — where they then smother and kill coral reefs.
Sea turtle nesting and feeding grounds along Brazil’s coasts are under intense coastal development pressure due to expansion of tourism, offshore oil/gas exploration and over-fishing.
In southern Chile, cold water corals (previously known to exist only at great depths) are threatened by the booming salmon aquaculture industry.
Environmental conditions considered optimal for shrimp aquaculture—temperature, salinity, and water availability—are the same optimal conditions for mangrove forests. Shrimp farming industries in Brazil, Colombia, and Ecuador are often situated near or illegally within mangrove forests and are causing vast destruction.

Despite these challenges, only 3.4% of South America’s oceans are legally protected, and on the Pacific Ocean side, this number is only 0.5%. The report’s authors recommended the establishment of protected areas to safeguard the continent’s little known and highly diverse marine environments, from sandy Caribbean beaches of Colombia to temperate fjords of Chile.

“The report identifies 90 million acres of potential new coastal and marine protected areas around South America, and if created, this would more than double the amount of ocean and coastal lands that are currently protected,” commented Chatwin. “A significant portion of the South American population depends on coastal and marine resources for their subsistence, but if the degradation of oceans continues, socioeconomic challenges such as poverty will only be exacerbated. Governments need to realize that investments in marine conservation and protected areas can and will benefit local economies and oceans.”

The Nature Conservancy is working with South American governments to create new marine protected areas, systems of enforcement, and sustainable economic opportunities to ensure the health of the continent’s oceans for future generations.
Choose Friendship!

Clinton Township, Michigan (PRWEB) February 08, 2012

That old adage, a friend in need is a friend indeed, is as relevant to innocent kids as it is to wise adults. In this crazy world of bullying and hurtful words, youngsters need a support network of best friends. A visual reminder of that bond is the friendship bracelet — a tween emblem of acceptance and self-esteem. The award-winning My Friendship Bracelet Maker® by Choose Friendship Company (formerly known as Crorey Creations) has been flying off the shelves from national outlets to QVC TV segments.

Beyond creating products that bind friendships, the company has now decided to bring focus on the issue of choosing friendship and rejecting bullying for school kids. What better way to transport that message than through an original song, and accompanying video, both created with real kids? In late January 2012 over 100 tweens and teens gathered at Dakota High School in Macomb Township, Michigan, for a notable cause. They were all participants in the music video production for the brand new song ” Inside Out” performed by 14-year-old Marisa Nahas, a local musical phenom. Nahas is an up-and-coming star in the music industry. An eighth grader at L’Anse Creuse Middle School North, Marisa sang and co-wrote the song “Waking Fate” from the award-winning local short film, Amendment (http://youtu.be/7dnMXVd8NtA). In addition, she won first place in the pop division during the American Guild of Music Great Lakes Regional Contest.

Mad Habit Media collaborated with The Choose Friendship Company to launch their anti-bully, pro-friendship campaign debuting at the NYC Toy Fair this month. Make the trip to friendship at the company’s American International Toy Fair Booth 6269.

The song’s powerful message is to be true to yourself, stand up for others and choose friendship. Along with the compelling song lyrics, the music video follows a “pay it forward” storyline emphasizing friendship. The video includes a high-energy, flash-mob style dance number, performed by more than 100 kids, ages 10-17 from counties in Southeast Michigan. The background “stage dance” includes competitive dancers from local dance studios in Metro Detroit. All of the dance numbers were choreographed by 18 year-old Maycee Nicholas of Clinton Twp., Michigan, where the company is based.

The video incorporates a PSA with the message that “together kids can knock out bullying one friend at a time!” Proceeds from the song’s sales will be donated to non-profit organizations that support this cause. Support the fight against bullying by downloading the song and sharing the video with your friends and family. The song can be purchased from Amazon, Rhapsody and iTunes for 99 cents and the video can be viewed for free at http://www.choosefriendshipinsideout.com. Viewers are encouraged to share via Facebook with the provided link on the site to help this share this worthwhile cause.

The family-owned company began in 2009 and the owners quickly realized from social media, website emails, personal stories at its first mall kiosk and at trade shows that kids liked to make bracelets for a cause or special reason close to their hearts. The company started campaigns asking to make special “color” bracelets in any patterns. After great success with the “Red, White and Blue, Kids Serve Too!” campaign where kids sent in red, white and blue friendship bracelets to children of military families, the popular “Pink and White, Kids Join the Fight!” campaign was a way to support kids in families dealing with breast cancer. “Embracing You With a Circle of Blue” reaches out to young people living with Type 1 diabetes.

While supporting these goodwill campaigns, it became apparent that “Choosing Friendship” was a positive message the company could share with its consumers that went hand in hand with making friendship bracelets for your friends. Why not make a bracelet for a friend, boldly stating you “Choose Friendship” and will stand up for those who are bullied? Locally in Michigan and across the world there are so many stories in the media of kids that were harmed both physically and emotionally because of bullies, and the company knew they wanted to help with this issue.

Once the project began, the company began hearing many stories of bullying from friends in their community. At the beginning of video is Alexis Stillwell telling her personal story of bullying. She is a 14 year-old from Macomb Township. The other “bullying” stories were scripted and read by local actors from Macomb County. The main characters from the video are from “All the World’s a Stage” based in Romeo, Michigan. Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel attended shoot to commend kids on participating in such a worthy and important cause.

On the product front, in 2012, the company shows off its new name with two new craft kits, The My Friendship Bracelet Maker Traveler™ and The Image Bracelet Maker™.

Choose Friendship is not only the craft kit company’s new name but also its mantra. The family business — started by a retired Detroit automotive executive learning to braid a bracelet with his young granddaughters – has gone global in two short years, bringing innovation to simple crafting techniques. The joy of the product line is its ability to engage impressionable kids of the importance of friends and self-expression – no matter how cool or kooky.

In addition to the typical school day and afterschool obligations, children sometimes have to cope with more than their science homework. A hand-made bracelet can actually make a difference in the life of an anxious child.

“Because children carry burdens often overlooked or misunderstood by others,” explained Choose Friendship Co.’s Julie Crorey, mom of the two daughters who inspired the product line, “we want them to feel welcomed into their own exclusive club. We’ve created charitable causes that touch a child in every community. Our mission is to let them know they’re not alone; not only are others living with the same fear and uncertainty, but that these special children are loved and supported by a larger community.”

Retailers have taken notice of this incredible company where DIY accessories nurture the soul. QVC sold out its entire load of more than 55,000 kits during the 4th quarter, 2011. National and specialty retailers alike had to restock their shelves in-store and online to the delight of young girls. And this year the company will reach retailers worldwide who will share the success of the Choose Friendship Company’s popular line of award-winning products.

Every major toy industry award program agreed with retailers that a focus on friendship was a smart idea! My Friendship Bracelet Maker® and My Ribbon Barrette Maker® have earned kudos from Tillywig Toy Awards, Parents’ Choice, Dr. Toy, Creative Child Magazine, NAPPA Awards and Brilliant Sky. New for 2012 are two products that allow kids to express themselves with a twist of the wrist:

My Friendship Bracelet Maker Traveler™ • Ages 6+ • $ 16.99

My Friendship Bracelet Maker® goes global with the Traveler™!
About Choose Friendship Company

Originally known as Crorey Creations, the Choose Friendship Company manufactures the innovative craft kit called My Friendship Bracelet Maker®, (MyFBM), and several other products in the Maker collection. Invented for his granddaughters by David Crorey, a retired auto industry executive with an engineering background, My Friendship Bracelet Maker offers an easy, organized and portable way to create friendship bracelets, a favorite craft tradition of girls and teens, and in-be-“tweens.”

Because friendship bracelets have long been an international symbol of friendship, the company has established quarterly Choose Friendship campaigns encouraging support networks between kids across the country. In 2012, an anti-bullying song & video titled “Inside Out,” sung by teen Marisa Nahas, will be released promoting the blessings of friends and the importance of choosing friendship over bullying. Watch their website for details of the first- ever celebratory Friendship Ball. For more information on products, causes and community, visit their consumer website at http://www.MYFBM.com.
Granite Bay, CA (PRWEB) April 5, 2011

(PRWEB) April 5, 2011 — In response to the heightened popularity of today’s refashioned French-style furniture, Belle Escape, a leading online retailer of hand-painted cottage style furniture, today announced the launch of Belle Maison Francaise (Belle Maison), a new online store that specializes in stylish French furniture and decor.

Belle Maison brings designer showroom shopping online, featuring a new wave of ultra chic French furniture modeled after the most popular period pieces. “French furniture is experiencing a modern-day renaissance,” says Donna Jensen-Madier, founder of Belle Escape and Belle Maison. “Designer showrooms are filled with gorgeous reproductions of Louis and French Provencal style furniture, featuring classic shapes adorned with finishes and fabrics that appeal to today’s aesthetic sensibilities. Belle Maison makes it easy to find the most in vogue French furniture from designer showrooms right online.”

A revival in French furniture has been noted as one of the top 2011 furniture trends by industry experts worldwide. Top interior designers agree. “I’ve always found that French style is consistently popular with design clients because of its timeless classic style, elegant yet comfortable designs and how well these pieces mix with more modern furniture forms,” says Linda Merrill, interior designer and editor of the popular design blogs Surroundings and The Skirted RoundTable.

With French style furniture being so diverse, Belle Maison segments its furnishings by style, including French Chic, Vintage French, Versailles Chic, Old Provence, French Country and Chateau. “Each style category has its own unique flavor,” says Jensen-Madier. “For example, French Chic features a number of Louis-era pieces with imprinted French words while Old Provence features an array of vintage French farmhouse pieces in weathered finishes. Each category is designed to appeal to the distinct preferences of French furniture connoisseurs.”

Belle Maison caters to consumers and interior designers in the U.S. and Canada. As a full-service online furniture store, Belle Maison offers custom finish options, special programs for interior decorators, free shipping on furniture shipped within the continental U.S. and personalized consultations.
